Five traps opened in Bristol have captured 14,326 Japanese beetles from the State Department of Agriculture. The heaviest concentrations are around Hope and Union streets. Officials say beetle numbers are dropping, but property owners should grub-proof lawns to prevent damage.
Delia Isabelle Medeiros 22 died Tuesday night in a Providence hospital after a long illness. Born August 8, 1918 in town, she was daughter of Mr and Mrs John Medeiros of 5 Easterbrooks avenue. Funeral held at godmother Delia Perry’s home then high mass at St Elizabeth’s Church. Burial in St Mary’s Cemetery.
