Mr and Mrs A G B Steel hosted a cocktail party at their summer home "Lee Shore" on Ferry Hill Sunday afternoon from 5 to 7 o'clock. Drive Launched To Equip 10000 British Red Cross Beds

The Bristol Committee of the British War Relief Society launches a nationwide drive to fund 10000 hospital beds for the British Red Cross. Each bed costs 40 dollars, covering sheets towels blankets and all accessories. local Bristol Branch collects funds for forwarding to the New York office.

Officials to Attend Bristol County Police and Press Clambake

Leaders of both parties from across the state will attend the tenth annual Bristol County Police and Press Clambake at Davis's Pavilion in Touisset on Tuesday August 20. Governor William H Vanderbilt will head the Republican delegation and be joined by James S Hart and other top officials. Invitations extended to former Governor Robert F Quinn and US Attorney J Howard McGrath. Silver cups donated for police revolver shooting trophies to follow the noon clambake at 1230. The Collins and Aikman Girls Club announced an August 24 Nantasket Beach outing postponed from July 27 and a September field day at Point Pleasant Farm Poppasquash. The Bristol Advisory Committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children will start its annual fundraising appeal on Thursday. Judge Edward L.
