Clarence H Martin, landmark Phoenix linotype operator and adviser, retires after nearly 75 years in printing. Born in Bristol and raised in Warren, he began with his father’s Gazette, built a vast career at multiple shops including Park Press, Fall River, and finally The Phoenix where he helped staff and management with expert printing and calm leadership. His wife Bessie accompanies him to Florida for a well earned retirement, with colleagues praising his skill, patience, and dedication.
