Court enters nolle in outdoor sales case
Judge Michael J. Sieilian in City court entered a nolle in the case of James Delmar a 40 year old concessionaire at Bridgeport Discount House 954 Malin street who was arrested yesterday on a complaint of Joseph M Dearborn zoning board clerk for displaying merchandise near a doorway in violation of City ordinance Section 513. Police say Delmar displayed costume jewelry at the Main street address. City prosecutor Frauwirth noted the ordinance is unclear on where merchandise may be displayed relative to doorways and off the street areas. Counsel George Ganim argued the display was inside the doorway not on the sidewalk and thus not a violation.
