Police hunt for clues in the murder of Dr. Eleanor Marjorie Langton a 52 year old Philadelphia psychiatrist who interned at St Vincent's hospital. A belt found in her car is an Army coat belt and a more valuable heirloom ring is missing. Money and a pocketbook were also missing. Dr Langton who headed the VA Philadelphia hospital mental hygiene clinic for three years was found beaten in her car on a Chester street. Investigators say robbery may be the motive and are tracing military links and reviewing VA records for patients.

Auto crashes leave six dead in Connecticut weekend
Six Connecticut residents died and scores were injured over a two day period as rain and mist contributed to four one car crashes and two pedestrian accidents. 6 Hurt in Accidents On Bridgeport Streets
Bridgeport police investigated ten auto accidents over the weekend leaving six hurt. The most seriously injured is Charles Wallin, 89, of 68 Ocean terrace, in critical condition at St. Vincent's hospital after being hit at Fairfield avenue near Rownley street by Stanley Lutinski, 44, of 403 Castle Avenue. Wallin was knocked onto an esplanade in the roadway as Lutinski’s car traveled west.
