Space Heater Blast Triggers Fire In New Britain Hospital
A propane space heater explosion in the unfinished New Britain General Hospital wing caused a flash fire that melted window frames and damaged nearby cylinders. Fire equipment contained the blaze with no injuries. 10 patients were moved away from the site. Officials noted propane heaters are allowed in unoccupied construction zones but not in occupied areas.
