Guilford Man Switches Plea in New Haven Bomb Plot Trial
In New Haven a defendant in a six man bomb plot case switched from not guilty to guilty and said he would testify for the defense. James Cotter, 28, of Guilford, received a favorable plea hearing as the trial paused for a pre-sentence investigation. Remaining defendants include Bonner, Brooks, Russell, Johnson and Belton. Bond reductions were granted for three co-defendants who did not post the lower amount by late afternoon. The jury was recalled and testimony continued, with authorities detailing a June dynamite find and a contested search warrant related to Johnson’s apartment. The judge recessed the trial until Tuesday.
