Legislature Lets Parents Be Liable for Kids Damages
A bill passed by both houses makes parents liable up to 5000 dollars for damages caused by 10 to 18 year olds to public or private property. Gov. Connally's signature awaited. The measure targets vandalism and false fire alarms, with sponsors Sen. Jack Hightower and Rep. Willis Whatley.
