Cleaning Reels and Fishing Tips From the Field
Experts advise cleaning reels with two parts alcohol to one part light reel oil, leaving a protective film to prevent rust. For boat bottoms, rough sand on a wet burlap rag cleans scum effectively. In murky water use noisy lures with strong vibrations and vary speed to maximize lure pull. Net tangles are reduced by storing inside a bag. Real feathers help train pups by mimicking bird smells and textures.
