Auto collision kills Dr. Sanders in Quincy area

Dr. O. B. Sanders of 358 Commonwealth Avenue died at City Hospital from a brain hemorrhage after a Tuesday night crash at Hanesk Street and Standish Avenue. He was returning from Quincy to his summer home in Egypt when his car collided head on with a Citi zen Gas Light Company manager’s vehicle as a streetcar appeared. Sanders, a noted genito urinaly specialist, was born in Epsom New Hampshire in 1855 and educated at Boston Latin, Amherst College and Boston University Medical School. He is survived by a wife and a brother.

Massachusetts Waterways Convention Opens in State House

The first state wide waterways convention debuts Oct 6 at the State House with morning and afternoon sessions and evening talks at Young’s Hotel. Miss Sears Not Engaged to Vanderbilt

Beverly Farms September 25. Miss Eleonora Sears denied engagement to Harold S. Vanderbilt. Beverly police served a summons for Miss Sears to appear in Salem court Saturday to answer a complaint over an unregistered automobile said to be Vanderbilt’s. Massachusetts law requires visiting cars from other states to be registered after 10 days.

Beverly police served a summons on Miss Sears at the Sears estate during the summer. Harold S. Vanderbilt, called her shadow for his attention, has fueled engagement rumors previously denied by both families. A Sears family member declined to discuss any possible engagement.

Lineman Dies From 25-Foot Fall in Cambridge

Arthur Haverland 36 of Belmont, a New England Telephone Company lineman, fell 25 feet from a pole at Mt Auburn and Holyoke streets, Cambridge. His foot slipped while working among wires and he suffered a fractured skull, dying hours after admission to Cambridge Hospital.
