Warner Delivers Popular Old South Lecture on Warner’s Elizabethan World
Charles Dudley Warner addressed a large audience of young people and literary figures in the Old South course yesterday. He sketched Elizabethan and colonial England with vivid detail, described urban London life in 1587, and noted social customs, dress, dining, and manners. He contrasted city and country life and teased the era’s credulity and wit. Next week Professor Charles H. Levermore will lecture on Puritanism and the English Revolution.

American Wool Reporter Defends Pennies on Peach Train Delays
The American Wool Reporter defends President Charles P. Clark of the New York New Haven Hartford railroad over peach train delays. Clark had been away ten days and found delays due to late Pennsylvania railroad deliveries and simultaneous New York division traffic. The NYNH&H is adding four tracks as fast as possible. during 3:01 to 6:05 pm fifteen passenger trains eastbound complicate timing. Officials say delays will ease as the Pennsylvania delivers better, and Clark is not personally running trains.
