Move to Postpone Currency Revision in Senate

The Senate was put on notice of an effort to delay the currency revision until the regular session. Senator Weeks of Massachusetts offered a resolution directing the committee to withhold its report until Dec. 2. The measure will be raised tomorrow as Republicans push for a definite Senate opinion.

Currency debate continues as House backs administration bill

Democratic leaders expect Republican support only for currency measures while Senator Hitchcock urges delay for full information. Jewelry combine suit aims to curb middleman activity

New York Sept. 4. A suit in equity to obtain a federal court injunction under the Sherman law against the so called jewelry combine to curb the activities of the middleman or robber was prepared for filing today by United States District Attorney Marshall. Attorneys for the jewelry manufacturers and wholesalers have consented to a friendly settlement of the question.

Jewelers Association to Conform to Sherman Act Decree

The National Wholesale Jewelers Association will file in Federal Court and will not contest the suit. Counsel Felix H. Levy says the association accepts the government's view that its actions, though not intended as Sherman Act violations, are construed as such.
