Fire in Tremont Row Burns Costumes, Minor Damage
Last evening just after 9 o clock a fire broke out at No 19 Tremont Row in a partly occupied three and a half story building. Firemen found smoke from the third floor and quickly contained the blaze with total losses around $500 to Shirley Smith a costume renter. The building owned by J C Bailey sustained minimal damage and the cause was blamed on rats and matches or a costume catching fire from an open gas stove. Several new costumes for winter events were ruined.
