Bowling League Close Matches Highlight City Play

Four City League bowling matches last evening produced tight finishes and excitement. Boylston defeated Meyers on home alleys with two easy opening games and a tight finale as Meyers closed the gap. Ferris led with the high single string near 193, while Woodward edged him for the high total with 557. McCarthy edged Roxbury 2–1 at McCarthy's, taking the first by a narrow margin as Roxbury replied in the third.

Fatal collision near Boston Harbor claims Two Forty crew

A Boston Harbor fishing schooner the Two Forty was struck by a steamer in dark seas near Buoy 7. Three crewmen are missing and presumed dead while the rescued men Erving and Beaudreau were taken to safety at the dredger O. N. Pope. The steamer Ardandhu is suspected as the strike vessel.

Gloucester Sailors Lost as Fishing Schooner Sinks

The fishing schooner Two orty sank in Boston Harbor last night with captain John Fewers and crew Fred Irving, Neil Brooks among the drowned. Fewers, 35, leaves a widow and 4 year old child. Irving, 25, a local printer. Brooks, 55, unmarried. Mrs Fewers had feared for his safety, she dreamed of danger and warned him to take care before he sailed.
