Disgusted 13-year-old runs to New York by freight car

Elias Allen, age 13 from Boston, secretly borrowed 50 cents to ride a freight train to Gotham. He appeared before Magistrate Deuel in Centre Street Court and was urged to return home with his mother’s apron strings. A Gerry Society agent found him in City Hall Park crying.

Druggists' Alliance Names Officers at Meeting

At Young's Hotel the annual Massachusetts Druggists Alliance meeting re elected William W. Bartlett as president. F. S. Fisher of Mansfield was chosen vice president. The secretary and treasurer post remains held by Bartlett in an acting capacity.

Post Office Robbed at Plainville

The Plainville postoffice was broken into early today by thieves who sacked the place and escaped with a substantial amount of plunder. Postmaster Coville does not know the extent of the loss.

Mob Burning of Lefore Ended Innocence Hope

In St Anne near Canton Mississippi a mob burned Joe Lefore after he confessed with others to tying Mrs Gambrel and her four children and burning them alive. Bob Smith was spared while Andrew Smith escaped. authorities expected recapture and possible execution if guilt is proven.
