Governor Nominates Capt Collins to Fish and Game Board
Governor Wolcott on Wednesday night nominated Captain Joseph W. Collins of Islesboro Maine for the Fish and Game Commission with a likely chairmanship and a salary of 180 dollars. Edward A Brackett of Winchester was reappointed on a six dollar daily basis. Collins, born August 8 1839 in Islesboro, rose from a Gloucester schooner skipper to a federal fisheries expert with roles in the Smithsonian US Fish Commission and international exhibitions.
