Body of Samuel M. Jayne Claimed in New York

Relatives from Eroomeport claimed the body of Samuel M. Jayne baggage master of the steamboat Nutmeg State. The body was picked up by the City of Lawrence and brought to New York and shipped to Bridgeport tonight.

Train Stopped by Bees Delays London Mail

At Norwich terminus four boxes of bees escaped from the night mail guard’s van. The box collapsed delaying the mail for twenty minutes. Bees swarmed the platform and were finally caged in the booking office after officials were stung during the standstill.

Hibernian Abstainers Elect New Officers at Naomi Hall

The annual meeting of the Hibernian Total Abstainers Association met at Naomi Hall on Washington street. President Maurice Dinneen of Malden chaired as officers were elected including President Maurice Dinreen of Malden Division 12 and others for Boston Brookline Cambridge Roxbury and Milton. Remarks on welfare were given by treasurer Roche, and officers Hickey McCarthy and McGarry spoke.

Eckels Hurt After Run-In With Express Wagon

James H. Eckels former comptroller of the currency and now bank president in Chicago was knocked down by a heavily laden express wagon at Fifth Avenue and Twenty eighth Street. He sustained severe facial bleeding but remained conscious and was taken to the Holland House by Bellevue ambulance. Police arrested Clarence Laviness of 510 Second Avenue after the incident.

Man killed en route to wife's grave in Poughkeepsie

John Bowes, 45, of Poughkeepsie, was struck and instantly killed by a passenger train on the Poughkeepsie and Eastern railroad while en route to visit his wife’s grave at St Peter’s Catholic cemetery. His wife had died four years earlier and Bowes kept visiting the grave every Sunday.

Two Passamaquoddy Women Hit On Trestle At Pleasant Point

Eastport Maine October 15 a Maine Central train struck two Passamaquoddy women on a Pleasant Point trestle. One leaped into a ravine to live another fell and lost an arm when the engine struck. Passengers were thrown from seats as the engineer reversed suddenly.

Actors Sail From Albert Dock on Marquette to New York
