Delana to represent Massachusetts at the National Cattle and Horse Growers’ convention in St. Louis in November. James Riggs, charged with manslaughter in a fatal accident, held for examination at $5,000. James Shaw of Brighton dies after choking on water. John Driscoll and Daniel Quinlan receive six months for tying a dog to a wagon until it died. Captain Alden G. Linnehan of the schooner James Young is jailed on cruelty to crew member Henry Morrill with alleged mast-tie abuse. Captured at the harbor, Linnehan held on $306 bail.
