Special Despatch to the Boston Post from Columbus reports midnight totals from 258 wards and precincts. Net Republican gain reaches 3865, projecting a statewide Republican plurality near 15,000. Prohibition votes unlikely to exceed 25,000, and overall poll totals expected well below last year.
Meagre returns from Ohio report Republican gains across the state in the governor race and in many county and legislative contests. By Oct 15, Cincinnati and Toledo tallied substantial Republican advantages, with Foraker leading and Hoadly’s setback noted. Kate Judd, the escaped convict, was recaptured about o clock last night by Superintendent Hunt of the state institution on the Pontiac road about five miles from the workhouse at Providence from which she escaped on Sunday. She was in a pitiable plight and had eaten nothing for 48 hours save a few apples.

The renowned French actress Mme Judie begins a limited Boston season Monday Oct 26 for 12 nights and two matinees. She will be backed by Henri Cooper Paul Ginet and others and performs Mile Nitouche and multiple plays including La Belle Helene La Grande Duchesse and Ni niche. Subscription starts Oct 19 at 9 AM at the box office with prices from 12 to 50 dollars depending on seating.
