Hoyt Funeral Held in Charlestown New Hampshire

The funeral services for playwright Charles H. Hoyt were conducted at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Charlestown at 1 45 PM with Rev B S Laester and Rev Howard F Hall officiating. Collision reported between Numidian and schooner Alma

Passengers from the Numidian arrive in Portland Maine and describe a collision last Wednesday with the schooner Alma of Lockport New York. The Alma was towing the schooner Thoradey when the line parted and contact was lost. Alma carried seven men and two were aboard to assist.

At the Somerville Democratic mayoralty convention in Independent Hall Henry C. Brine was unanimously chosen as the mayoral candidate. Alderman James W. Kenney chaired the event with John L. Late this afternoon Chester B Lawrence Jr a Consolidated Stock Exchange member with five New York offices and George H Wolbert were arrested along with Edward S Underhill manager on grand larceny charges. Mrs Catherine Rouckendorf claims the stock drawer has three 1000 bonds belonging to her. Lawrence joined the Exchange in March 18 and is said to have carried out a large business. Underhill heads the firm and is described as owning significant property.
