They accuse Republicans of bad faith after public certified returns show New York to Cleveland electors. Buffalo ministers who slandered Gov Cleveland regret the abuse as vacant pews reflect disapproval. Rev Rufus S Green says he did not mean to participate and reproached a friend for publishing a letter. Dr Ball defended prior remarks in a sermon while avoiding the governor’s name.

A high level meeting occurred at Blaine's Augusta home on a Saturday with Congressman Reed of Portland and customs collector Barker arriving by Pulman train. Also present were Orville Lombard and a mysterious stranger. A brief conference with Blaine and Postmaster Manley followed, hinting at a coordinated plan.

Brooks pro with 8,000–10,000. Missouri legislature likely 25 Democrats, 9 opposition in Senate. House 100 Democrats, 40 opposition.

The release defends purity in elections and pledges thorough checks to correct any NY returns errors.
In New York on November 9 Irish American independents gathered and pledged to aid Blaine’s election with zeal even at the cost of blood. They widely condemned Rev Dr Burchard’s Rum Romanism and Rebellion remarks as harming their cause.

The Trades and Labor council of Toronto adopted a resolution boycotting the Mail for its printers signing a no union pact. Three hundred furnace hands and miners went on strike at Shenandoah iron works in Pape county Virginia over two months of back wages. No disturbance reported. A farmer near Excelsior Minnesota, Thomas Hastings, was fatally shot Friday by his son in law Andrew Campbell aged 24 after Campbell demanded his wife. Hastings died and Campbell was arrested.

Providence R I November 9 The three mills of the Social Manufacturing Company at Yoon socket will be shut down tomorrow morning and continue for an indefinit period due to continuous full time operation during the dull season. The mills produce 10 000 pieces weekly and employ about 1200 workers.
New Iverra Louisiana November 9. Yesterday by court order Judge Theo Fontelieu and ex sheriff Viator were released under a $1000 appearance bond. Abe Paillet's bond was fixed at $500. The other prisoners twelve in number were discharged.
