Coal Offers Of Buckwheat Size Coal For Navy Yard
Offers of buckwheat coal poured into the office of City Purchasing Agent Francis P. Rock after an advertisement for bids on 60 000 tons of anthracite coal for delivery at the Charlestown navy yard beginning November 15. Rock rejected them as unsatisfactory since buckwheat is smaller than pea coal and he requires at least a two inch size.
