Society crowd attends the 10th annual Chestnut Hill open air horse show at Longwood Cricket Club Chestnut Hill. A perfect day for gowns and thoroughbreds with four jumping classes. Harry L. Burrage wins all cups and blue ribbons in every jumping class.

Burrage horses sweep opening horse show prizes

Mr Burrage's Undine won the opening jumping class and Roaches Point took top money in the afternoon opening class. A Norfolk Hunt Club team led by Nicholas Walsh won the hunt club event. Miss Frances Webster's Charm broke loose during a change and a horse in the last jumping class bumped Francis Lee near the judges stand with no injuries. Various ribbons went to Miss Ella Ivers, Miss Nora Saltonstall, Mrs E J Bliss and others in harness and saddle classes. An evening dance closed the day at the club house.

Yale alumni in Gales Ferry Conn tonight purchased the Voorhees property adjoining the crew quarters for about $15000. The house will serve as a club house for alumni and oarsmen. Payne Whitney and Averill Harriman are understood to have contributed heavily to the purchase.
