Osgood Co Assets Loss Strikes Against Liabilities

At the second meeting of James R. Osgrood and Company the committee reviewed the firm’s affairs. They valued assets at about 100000, liabilities at 170000, noting large shrinkage from published book values due to publishing industry factors. No offers were made to creditors. James R. Old Colony Cape Cod summer train plan released

The Old Colony's summer running changes begin around June 15 on the Cape Cod division. An early morning accommodation train from Hyannis to Buzzard’s Bay will precede the main passenger train into Boston and return by about 8:50. The morning express to Yarmouth will be faster by 20 to 25 minutes, with stops along the coast. Sunday service includes a Middleboro to Buzzard’s Bay run and a refrigerator car will haul fresh meats and fruits to Boston. Island Home steamers will run daily New Bedford to Nantucket and back, Martha’s Vineyard trips, and Monahansett freight/ passenger runs. The Nashua Acton and Boston railroad annual meeting elected officers and directors, with John C. Moulton named president. The Mexican National railroad concession question was addressed, denying imminent forfeiture, amid a libel threat. Later railroad earnings were reported.
