In New York on May 14 DuPont Powder 44s reached a new peak while Wabash 4s remained steady. Total sales amounted to 2,827,900 dollars, up from 2,739,000 yesterday and 2,763,000 a week ago, with 5,267,000 a year ago.
Trading on the New York Metal Exchange showed a moderate uptick as Lake Copper moved between 161-4 and 161-8 cents, electrolytic 161-8 to 161-4, and castings 155-8 to 157-8 cents. Closing spot bids and asks listed copper at multiple dates with May, June, and August quotes, while Spelter and Tin, Lead prices appeared steady or fluctuating.
Bay State Gas led yesterday's curb market with trades from 27 to 31 cents and closing at the low quote. Rhode Island Coal offered freely with sales as low as 7 cents and a five-share certificate at 25 cents. Hollinger moved to 107 8 from an opening 115 8 while the rest of the market stayed quiet.
