Senate Votes to Put Women Voters on Liquor Licenses Bill

In the General Court the bill giving women qualified to vote on liquor license questions in cities or towns moved to a third reading. Senators debated temperance versus woman suffrage links, with Kingsley defending the measure as a home protection issue. The refer-to-next-General-Court amendment failed narrowly, and the bill advanced with protest from opponents. The session then shifted to Boston streets control debates, where an amendment to substitute a bill for the charter order sparked further discussion before adjournment.
