Eleven unidentified victims of the Grand Trunk disaster were buried in one large grave at Hamilton on May 7. The city observed mourning with flags at half mast and closures of schools, offices, and many businesses. Adults rested in black caskets, two children in white. eleven hearses, floral tributes, and a pallbearer group from Grand Trunk and the city council attended. The caskets were arranged with six inches of earth between them in the shared grave.
