A newlywed couple, Webster and his bride, married at St. George's Episcopal Church on April 24 and left for Boston. En route near Fitchburg the groom took $400 into a smoker and vanished. Rev. Moore found Webster had misrepresented his marital history and claiming 17 children.

Middlesex Jury Reaches Unanimous Verdict After Hours

Jurors left the trial room at 5:22 pm and delivered a verdict by 12:33 pm the next day, the longest Middlesex county jury decision in a decade. Defence exceptions may go to the Supreme Court if higher courts deny a new trial.
