English aviator killed in monoplane crash near Brooklands Aerodrome

Lt. James R. B. Kennedy of the Royal Flying Corps was killed and C Gordon Bell seriously injured when a monoplane, flown by Bell, dived at 30 feet and 80 mph. The wreckage buried both men. This follows a prior Royal Flying Corps fatality near Montrose on May 27.

Boy Killed in Mill Shafting In Clinton Mills

Oswald Devaney a 17 year old card grinder at Lancaster Kingham mills was killed in a shafting accident. His overalls caught on a belt causing him to be pulled into the shafting 16 feet from the floor and his body revolving with the machinery for five minutes before power was shut off.
