A New York bound train crashed into a standing section in Stamford Connecticut tearing the parlor car to pieces. The engine drove about forty feet into the car as rescuers worked to pull victims from the wreckage and save lives in the smashed car.
A cap-pistol fired by a boy visitor at F A Howard's East First street factory sparked chemical explosions fueling a devastating blaze that destroyed four East First and K street factories and damaged tenements and shops. two women, Mrs Edward J Kelley and Mrs W H Seeley, died.
Five persons are dead and about 30 injured after a rear end collision on the New York New Haven and Hartford line at Stamford station. The Boston express second section crashed into the first as it began leaving the depot at 4 46 PM. Names of the dead include Mrs Edward J Kelley and Mrs W H Seeley. Among the injured are F D Jennings S W Patterson George Walton and others from New York Boston and nearby towns. Continued on Page 2 first column.
