Sails of Franconia Carry 1700 Passengers to Queenstown and Liverpool

The Cunard liner Franconia sailed yesterday afternoon with about 1700 passengers bound for Queenstown and Liverpool. It drew a large cheering crowd of over 2500 at the Cunard dock and featured abundant cut flowers with many women passengers carrying bouquets of roses or pinks.

Forged Check Suspect Hangs Self in Cell

Harry B. Walton aged 19 of Somerville hanged himself in his jail cell after serving only three weeks of a four month sentence for forgery. He used a tie as a noose attached to electrical fixtures, and had been sentenced under the name Sears for allegedly forging a $10 U S Trust Company check.
