Crash damages two schooners off Cape Breton in fog
Gloucester June 1 The fishing schooner Stiletto under Captain John Grady reported a collision last Tuesday about three miles off Flint Island Cape Breton with a French fishing schooner. Seven stanchions and 385 feet of port rail were torn away after both vessels altered course to avoid a crash.

More than 500 Orangemen and about 60 women from Boston and nearby areas paraded from Tremont and Appleton streets to Tremont Temple for a patriotic religious service. Nine Norwegian Sailors Reach Boston After Freia Wreck
Nine Norwegian sailors from the freia were rescued after the full rigged ship foundered off Sunday Point near Yarmouth Nova Scotia in a sixty mile gale. They arrived in Boston aboard the steamer Boston and plan to take berths on ships in New York Baltimore port as soon as possible.
