Chairman Corbett urged late August caucuses and September state convention to boost GOP efforts. Weekly registrations fell by 314 against the prior week, with 14,655 registered previously and 2,894 in the last week, bringing the grand total to 17,549 by Saturday noon.
A cyclonic storm hit Pittshore Pittsburgh at 4 30 PM causing two immediate deaths and a possible third fatal injury. A mob of about 3800 gathered near the packing house to seize Mrs Anna Sopher and Spencer accused of killing John Ricker. Ricker, a packing house employee, was shot in a house of ill repute. The sheriff has fortified the jail and danger of violence is high.
Quebec July 27 Cardinal Taschereaus condition grew worse this evening as physicians were summoned. The private physician said his days are numbered due to excessive weakness and an alarming state. Late tonight the cardinal showed a slight improvement but his pulse remained feeble and unsettled.

J Arthur Fitch aged 28 shot himself at his Sterling home, despondent over illness. He was a chair manufacturer worth about 40000 dollars. John Killarkey aged 65 drank paris green this afternoon and his wife was sent to an insane asylum earlier today. doctors think he may recover.
Frank Pierson, in a fit of insanity, slashed the throats of his aged father and mother in Iowa Falls Iowa, then cut his own throat. The father escaped serious injury, but the mother and Pierson are dying. Pierson had recently been discharged from an asylum as cured.
The son of General Lee and two American consulate officials met seven Competitor prisoners outside the fort on July 24. General Lee was indisposed but the prisoners were guarded and had not left their cells for two months. A Supreme Court review of the case is eyed for August in Madrid. General Lee urges US action against Weyler's ban on fruit exports harming American commerce.
