Turner to Fight Limit for Collie in Rutland Case

Rutland attorney Lindley Squires will appeal to Vermont Supreme Court to block police seizure of Bruce the collie owned by Charles Turner of 94 Church street. Turner faces trial July 21 for keeping an unlicensed dog and seeks a mandamus ruling to license Bruce back in Rutland. Bruce vanished from under an officer's watch and was hidden in a nearby town as authorities pursue the case.

Not Her Collie Arrest In Burlington Over Licensing

Mrs. C H Moulton of Medford denies owning Bruce the collie tied to Charles Turner’s arrest. Turner kept the dog licensed in her name in Clarendon, though she says she never owned it and did not license it there. The dog was given to Turner before her marriage and the license appears tied to her family. She claims Bruce once snapped at horses as a puppy and has not bitten anyone, while denying any connection to the Vermont Supreme Court case.
