Tug Passes Under New Charles Town Bridge Draw

A large movable draw under construction for the Charles Town bridge was swung into position in a successful trial. City Engineer Jackson and Rapid Transit Commission Chairman Crocker witnessed as the iron guards were adjusted to fit, and the 240 foot 6 inch by 100 foot bridge cleared the under span for the first test passage by the tug S Little.

Along the Water Front Puzzling Fate of Norseman Steamer

Mariners wonder if the Norseman anchored by Castle Island will be cut up for old iron in Philadelphia or sold privately to serve as a coal barge or other use. Shipkeeper George Smith has left the vessel and returned to Commercial Street. Revenue Cutter Manning cruised along the coast with Colonel Butler Ames and the schooner America, while other ships like the four-masted bark Andorin and bark J. H. Bowers arrived or departed with lumber wool and coal trades noted. Dense fog disrupted several sailings, including the Admiral Schley and Alfred Dumois, delaying arrivals and cargoes of bananas and other goods.
