Viola Florence Farrell aged 9 died at a New Hampshire beach hospital after a firecracker exploded in her hand igniting her clothing. She was alone on the beach when the accident occurred and could not be aided in time.

A teenage boy in East Boston shoots his friend after laughter turns deadly. Blanch is struck in the breast and falls to the sidewalk. Doctors expect the wound may prove fatal as the assailant is identified and questioned.

In East Boston at Brooks and Princeton streets a boy named Blanch was shot in the chest by a pistol found under a box by Richard son a towerman at Lamartinee street yards. The weapon was a 32 caliber revolver and fragments were later found in a cellar. Blanch’s wound is believed fatal. his mother Susan Blanch refused hospital care.

In Gorham Maine Elmer C Graffam 18 drowned after falling from a raft at Alden Pond. He could not swim and friends failed to rescue him. The body was recovered about three hours later.

Harry C Knight of Indianapolis known as the Speedway hero was killed here when his car blew a right rear tire and turned turtle on the 110th lap of the 200 mile race under Columbus Automobile Association. Mechanician Milton Michaelis of Cloves New Mexico was fatally injured in the crash tonight.

Knight re entered the race after engine trouble at 70 mph when his car crashed near the grandstand. Jenkins following at a short distance ran over Knight as his wrecked car lay on the track.
