John Fitzgerald of Manchester New Hampshire shot and gravely wounded by his 11 year old son while inspecting a florist greenhouse operated by Michael F Gray at 7 Capen street Milton. The boy found a shotgun kept for pest control and fired in a childish triumph.
Thomas Gray aged 9 fired a single barrel shotgun loaded with birdshot at his father John J Gray after spotting the gun in a greenhouse near Manchester. Fitzgerald, visiting the Grays, was wounded in abdomen and thighs and placed on the dangerous list at Massachusetts General Hospital. Police found the shooting accidental and no action was taken.
President Woodrow Wilson and his family attended the Old South Church in Windsor Vermont. He took communion with the congregation and joined in hymn singing before shaking hands with Rev John F Schneider the new pastor after the service.
The President and Mrs. Wilson attended a church service at an over 100 year old meeting house with fewer than a hundred in attendance. Attendees included Miss Jessie and her fiancé Francis B. Sayre, Dr. Carey T. Grayson, and Arthur W. Tedcastle and family. The service stressed the value of commonplace duties, and the President joined in devoutly, aided by a palm leaf fan due to the heat.
