A tall armed bandit stormed the Boston & Albany ticket office on Washington Street forcing clerks to surrender cash. The desperado fled toward Summer Street but was chased by officers and a large crowd, finally surrendering in Joseph Albanian's barber shop with Officer Jacobus. He later confessed to similar holdups in several cities and identified as William J. Monogue, a former Coast Artillery corporal.
