Wellesley Model Chosen for Sir Francis Cook College Plan

He visited Vassar first, found it aristocratic, then noted Wellesley educated daughters of modest means and supported building in London with a $250,000 gift from Sir Francis. He argues Vassar favors luxury and class, while Wellesley embodies equal access to arts and sciences for aspiring women.
