Night Gown Mystery Baffles City Police

Police at City Hall Avenue station pursue a dainty white lawn night gown found at State and Devonshire streets early Thursday. Patrolman Driscoll reported the sleeveless garment, size 17, which Captain Sullivan holds for an owner. The department has circulated its description to all officers. The goal is to locate the rightful owner and determine how such apparel appeared on State Street. The captain will ask no unnecessary questions if the owner claims the gown at Court Square station.

No Silver Found at Temagami Mine Trial Eyes Fraud

In New York on Feb 27 Dr William J Morton testified in a federal court fraud case connected with the Hawthorne group mines. He admitted no report was made after his examination and that Temagami showed no more than 30 ounces of silver shipped. The trial resumes tomorrow.
