Frantic with grief Mrs. Jane Steele of Medford mourns her son John and writes to sympathize with Mrs. Cohen and Mrs. Driscoll. The Governor visits Mr. Driscoll in hospital as funeral plans honor Mr. Cohen’s stature in labor.
Mrs. Cohen and her two sons are consoled by Governor Guild and Mrs. Guild after Ed ward Cohen, labor leader and friend, lies wounded from a mall ish shooting. The governor comforts Cohen’s widow at the hospital and shares memories of the dead man’s labor leadership.

Acting on Captain Dugan’s suggestion the grand jury questioned five witnesses yesterday afternoon to expedite an indictment against John A. Steele for the Governor Guild shooting.
John A. Steele of Everett was arraigned in the Municipal Criminal Court on a shooting in the Governor's private office lobby injuring Edward Cohen and Dennis D. Driscoll. Defense cited doubt on commitment to Danvers Insane Asylum. He was held on $100,000 bail for Friday December 13 pending further hearings.
The body of Edward Cohen, president of the State branch AFL, will lie in Wells Memorial Hall from 10 am to 6 pm tomorrow. Labor unions will receive and vigil, then escort the bier to South Station for transport to New York for interment. Funeral services in New York will be held Monday under the Sons of Benjamin.
A fire believed sparked by an incendiary destroyed the three story Main Street building owned by John R. Hemenway in Ware. The lower shops and upper lodging rooms were damaged with losses estimated at 470 dollars. Four recent incendiary fires were reported in the area within a month.
Republican mayoral candidate George A. Tubbard spoke in South Boston wards 13 14 and 15 amid expectations of disturbance at Ward 13 Congress Hall where Larry O Toole was to preside. Hatch of Ward 18 GOP led proceedings as Tubbard dubbed the mayor “Poor John” at Dudley Street Opera House. He filled Ward 16 then moved to Gray s Hall Ward 14 old court house Ward 15 and Congress Hall in Ward 13 before a large audience.
