State House orders removal of Partridge Banks statue model
The Executive Council demands sculptor William Ordway Partridge remove the enlarged Banks statue model from Room 436 for not meeting competition terms. If he fails to remove it it will be done at his risk. The heavy model required the State House carpenter to shore up the table to prevent damage to the display and nearby Kitson model. The Governor had veiled the model since its first day of exhibition.
