Joshua H. Davis former Somerville superintendent of schools died at his East Somerville home at 65 Myrtle Street. Born November 3 1814 in Truro Cape Cod he served as Truro Academy principal before moving to Somerville in 1854 becoming school committee member in 1868 and superintendent from 1831 to 1888. The Davis School on Tufts Street later Boys Vocational School bore his name.
