Two Dorchester Girls Sent to Reform School

Susie Cohen and Kitty Buckley both 15 were arrested for larceny of ladies garments from clotheslines in Dorchester. Cohen admitted thefts and implicated Buckley. both were sent to Lancaster School after trial. Police described shocking behavior at the station and later separated them from other prisoners.

Trembley poisoning inquest adjourned amid arsenic finding

In South Framingham on April 26 the Trembley poisoning inquest adjourned indefinitely after doctors testified arsenic in J Trembley's stomach. Eleven of twenty subpoenas heard as a court dispute over Mrs Trembley's counsel presence delayed testimony.

Judge Dismisses License Transfer Petition in Bankruptcy Case

Judge Lowell in federal court dismissed a trustee petition involving Joseph Bredbine, a bankrupt Boston liquor dealer. The ruling denies compelling Cornelius Breabine to withdraw his liquor license renewal and to reassign license issuance to the estate buyer, finding no jurisdiction under the 1898 Bankruptcy Act.

Coleman Sues Foundry for Burn Injury Verdict

Patrick Coleman won $3300 in his personal injury case against the Mechanics' Iron Foundry after a March 24 1893 burn caused by a defective shank that let melted iron spill onto him.

Teaser Towboat Launch at Atlantic Works

A large crowd gathered at the Atlantic Works wharf to witness the launch of the 125 foot Teaser towboat. Built in the same class as Boxer and Gladiator, Teaser is controlled by Haley and Appleton of Union Towboat Company. Asa Haley attended aboard John C. Morrison as Teaser’s bow was christened.

Lineman Falls From Pole In Somerville Near Death

John Eliot a lineman of 46 Harvard Street Charlestown fell forty feet yesterday from a telegraph pole in Somerville and is believed to be fatally injured after likely touching a live wire.
