Girl Forged Check Arrest of Miss Frances Adair
Inspectors Harris and Cleary arrested Frances L. Adair for forging and uttering a $42 check on Boylston National Bank. The check dated April 12, 1899, payable to Hattie Green and signed H M Chapin, reflected a myth about the alias. Adair admitted the charge and awaits Municipal Court today.

Great Copper Trust Formed By Leading Capitalists
The greatest combination of capitalists formed yesterday aims to control copper mining smelting and milling. Valued at 75 million dollars with unlimited power, it seeks to consolidate top copper interests beyond Calumet & Hecla and eventually absorb the giant company. Boston interests loom large as shares in key copper firms are held by Massachusetts citizens. The Post had long predicted such a merger and noted Butte & Boston and Boston & Montana would consolidate, a forecast once mocked as “Watch Butte” but later borne out as the stock climbed dramatically from 2.50 to 106 dollars.
