Revenue cutters Manning repair shift and ship moves

Steamer Dumois Overdue From Puerto Plata With Rail Cargo
The Norwegian steamer Simon Dumois captained by Nieuwegaar sailing April 14 from this port for Puerto Plata has not arrived by the 20th. It carried railroad material for a San Domingo to Puerto Plata railroad line, including five rail cars, 20 tons of steel rails, frogs, satches, and wheels. A gale after departure, port list, and possible damage are suspected while the vessel of 747 gross tons and 174.9 feet length is owned by Bergh & Holland of Bergen with a crew of 18 and captain residing in Bergen with a family.
