Pioneer of New England Paper Boxes Dies at 74
G H Dickerman founder of the region’s largest paper box plant died at his Somerville home after a brief illness. Born in Stoughton on April 30 1824 he started in nursery work before turning to box manufacturing in Canton and Boston. He introduced machinery to the trade and led several firms and associations including the Paper Box Manufacturers Association. He served on the Somerville Board of Aldermen and held leadership roles at Riverside Collar and American Moulded Collar Company. His son Charles Ebickerman now manages the New Hampshire fish farm he established.
