Cambridge Fire Destroys Old Holton Copper Works
A spectacular Cambridge blaze at the old Holton Copper Works and adjacent buildings caused losses estimated between $60,000 and $75,000. Firemen from Cambridge and reinforcements from Somerville fought flames under driving rain until a downpour halted the spread. The three-part complex housed Bay State Metal Works and others. several nearby homes were damaged but residents escaped with no injuries reported.
