Second search for stowaways on liner Cretic at Charlestown
Immigration inspectors conducted another search of the White Star liner Cretic after 27 stowaways were found in a water tank. Nearly a score of Italian crew deserted, and several crew members were at large as investigators probed potential crew knowledge. The ship remains tied at its Charlestown pier near the navy yard during the renewed probe.
