Downed Pilot Suffers Fractured Skull in Maine Crash
Kenneth L. Mentzer, 36, of Lexington, Md., walked from a single engine Piper Cherokee Six after a crash near Dutch Mountain in Maine. He was hospitalized with a fractured skull at Eastern Maine Medical Center. The plane, en route from Westport, Va, to Wiscasset, had been cleared to Belfast. No passengers were aboard. Weather hampered initial search. Coast Guard and Army National Guard assisted.
